I am a writer. I am a poet. And I write about nature. I am obsessed with nature, actually. I cannot handle anything that affects it and I think the world will come to an end soon, with the people destroying it.
Everything from the paste I use to brush my teeth to the clothes I wear, I make sure they are in no way harmful to the world around me. For this particular reason, I get teased by my colleagues and I’ve never had a man to like me more than a day. But, I don’t care. I still go on loving nature and I feel the only way to repay nature for what it has given us is by protecting it.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t feel lonely sometimes. One day, as I was on a shopping spree I came across a perfume called ‘Kenzo Flower Perfume by Kenzo’. It had a mixture of wild hawthorne, bulgarian rose, parma violet, white musk and vanilla. I decided to buy it.
That evening, I had to meet up with a friend at a local restaurant. As I stepped into the restaurant, my eyes fell on a handsome young man who was conversing with the chef. I stared a bit, and he turned, looked at me and smiled. I smiled back.
It so appeared that he was my friend’s colleague and had come with her. We settled down for dinner and made our orders. I couldn’t help but noticing that the guy was ogling at me from the time I sat down. I wondered if he was blind or wrong in the head. I was wearing a hideous cotton dress and none of those fancy above knee dresses that men drool over usually.
The next day, I was still pondering about him when I got a call, from him. I was surprised. I decided he wanted to thank me for coming or something and answered the call with a smile. “Hi. This is Jack from last night?” he sounded uncertain. “Yes, Jack”, I said. “Are you free tonight?” he asked. My heart fluttered. Am I really hearing what I am hearing? “Yes,” I whispered on the phone, almost scared that all this would end up being a dream.
“Would you like to go out with me to dinner tonight?” he asked. My heart skipped a beat. “Is this some kind of joke?” I asked back, from bitter past experiences. “No. I genuinely like you. If you think I’m good enough for someone as beautiful as you, kindly accept my request”, came the reply. “Of course I’ll go with you”, I smiled. I had never felt happier. We talked a bit and as we were about to keep the phone down he said “Hey, by the way, what was that perfume you were wearing the other day? It really blew me away!”
